Refund & Cancellation Policy

How we handle returns, refunds, and workshop changes — fairly, and on a human timescale.

The short version

  • Damaged-on-arrival artwork: report within 48 hours, we'll replace or refund.
  • DIY kits (unopened, factory-sealed): returnable within 7 days.
  • Workshops: cancel more than 72 hours before the first session for a full refund; 72 hours or less, we issue a store credit.
  • Commissioned / custom pieces: non-refundable once work has started; see your commission brief.

1. Artwork & physical products

Damaged in transit

Each piece is hand-packed and shipped with care, but accidents happen in transit. If your package arrives with visible damage to the outer carton, or the artwork itself is damaged on unboxing:

  • Email admin@ayansastudio.com within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Include your order number and photographs of the outer carton, inner packaging, and the damage.
  • We'll triage it with the courier and offer either a full replacement (subject to availability, as many pieces are one-of-a-kind) or a full refund to your original payment method.

Change of mind on original artwork

Each original artwork is unique and hand-made to order in many cases, so we do not accept returns for change of mind on original pieces. We encourage you to review the product photos, dimensions, and description carefully before ordering, and to reach outif you'd like additional photos or a quick video of the piece.

DIY kits

Unopened, factory-sealed DIY kits can be returned within 7 days of delivery for a full refund (excluding the original shipping cost). Opened or partially used kits are non-refundable for hygiene and material-integrity reasons. Email admin@ayansastudio.com to initiate a return — we will share a pickup address; return shipping is at your cost unless the return is due to our error.

Wrong / missing items

If you received the wrong item, or an item is missing from your order, email us within 48 hours of delivery and we will ship the correct item or refund it, whichever you prefer.

2. Workshops

Cancelling your booking

  • More than 72 hours before the first session: full refund to the original payment method.
  • 72 hours or less before the first session: we issue a store credit equal to the booking amount, valid for 6 months, usable on workshops, products, or kits.
  • No-shows: no refund or credit, as we've reserved materials and a seat for you.

Rescheduling

If you can't make a session, let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we'll do our best to move you to another batch, subject to seat availability. Rescheduling is free up to 72 hours before the first session; within 72 hours a ₹200 admin fee applies.

If we cancel a session

If we cancel a workshop session for any reason (low turnout, instructor illness, force majeure), you will receive a full refund to your original payment method, or the option to move to the next batch at no extra cost — your choice.

Multi-session batches

When a workshop runs as a multi-session batch, your booking reserves a seat across every session in that batch. Missing one session does not entitle you to a partial refund, because we reserve the seat and materials for you regardless.

3. Commissioned & custom work

Commissioned pieces, corporate workshops, and private sessions are bespoke engagements. Refund and cancellation terms are set out in your commission brief or proposal. In general:

  • The advance/retainer is non-refundable once work has started, because it covers materials, time, and reserved studio capacity.
  • Milestone payments are non-refundable for completed milestones.
  • Any specific refund arrangement we agreed in writing with you prevails over this general policy.

4. How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are credited back to the original payment method (card, UPI, net-banking, etc.) via our payment processor, Razorpay. Typical timelines:

  • Cards / net-banking: 5–7 business days.
  • UPI & wallets: 1–3 business days.

If you don't see the refund after 10 business days, please reply to your original confirmation email with your order number and we'll chase the processor for you.
